The Midland School District will celebrate a major milestone with a groundbreaking ceremony for a new high school and cafeteria addition on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 2:00 PM.
The ceremony will take place at the project site located at 741 Main Street in Pleasant Plains and will include participation from the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce, community leaders, students, educators, and local partners.
District officials say the project represents a significant investment in the future of Midland students and was made possible through the support of district voters.

Superintendent Toby Crosby said the groundbreaking marks an important moment for the community.
“This groundbreaking represents more than the start of a construction project — it represents the belief our community has in the future of Midland students,” Crosby said.
He added that the new facilities will provide modern learning spaces designed to support academic excellence and student wellbeing for generations to come.
Construction Partner
Construction partner FARCO Construction will lead the project. FARCO is known for its experienced construction team and its ability to self-perform specialty trade services that help maintain quality, safety, scheduling, and budget standards.
