Arkansas State Police Troopers seized 190 pounds of illegal marijuana during a traffic stop on Interstate 40 in Monroe County on Monday morning.

According to Arkansas State Police, the traffic stop occurred around 6 a.m. on June 22, 2026, near the 217-mile marker on Interstate 40.
Troopers stopped a black Chevrolet Silverado for a traffic violation. During a search of the vehicle, authorities discovered 190 individually packaged 1-pound bags of marijuana concealed in the bed of the truck.
The driver, identified as a 17-year-old from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was taken into custody at the scene.
Following the arrest, the juvenile suspect was transported to the Brinkley Police Department. Brinkley officers later transferred the suspect to the Craighead County Juvenile Detention Center.
Arkansas State Police did not immediately release additional information regarding possible charges or the destination of the marijuana.
The investigation remains ongoing.
