The Cabot Police Polar Plunge team is gearing up to take the icy leap for a great cause.

On Saturday, February 21, the Cabot Police Department will participate in the Special Olympics Arkansas Polar Plunge in Searcy. The annual event brings together law enforcement officers, community members, and teams from across the state who brave freezing waters to raise funds supporting thousands of Arkansas athletes.

Cabot officers say they are currently ahead of the Searcy Police Department in donations but are encouraging supporters to help widen the lead. This year’s team theme is “wrasslin’,” adding a fun twist to the chilly challenge.

Funds raised through the Polar Plunge directly benefit Special Olympics athletes by supporting training, competitions, and inclusive programs statewide.

Department leaders say the event represents service beyond the badge — helping bring opportunity, joy, and inclusion to athletes who train and compete with dedication and perseverance.

Community members can donate to the Cabot Police team or sponsor individual officers to support the Special Olympics mission.
