Ozark Folk Center State Park will host a free informational meeting on Tuesday, February 17, for individuals interested in becoming involved in the park’s programs and operations that preserve Ozark traditions as a living culture.

The meeting, titled “Hands, Hearts, and Heritage: Becoming Part of the Ozark Folk Center State Park,” begins at 10 a.m. in the Dogwood Room of the Visitor Center and is open to the public.
Participants will learn about opportunities to serve as craft contractors, musicians, teachers, gardeners, volunteers, substitutes, apprentices, and support staff. Park officials will also explain application and approval processes, including juried programs, and ways to assist with guest services, interpretation, and behind-the-scenes operations.
Officials say the meeting is especially well suited for retirees and individuals with flexible schedules who are interested in sharing skills, learning new trades, mentoring others, and giving back through meaningful cultural work.
The Ozark Folk Center preserves Ozark music, crafts, gardens, and food traditions through hands-on, person-to-person experiences and relies on community stewardship to support its mission.
