A judge has set a $500,000 cash-only bond for a man charged in connection with a deadly physical altercation in Walnut Ridge.

On Monday, January 19, District Judge Alex Bigger found probable cause to charge Logan A. Rentz with second-degree murder.
Walnut Ridge Police Chief Jamie Ferrell said the Walnut Ridge Police Department continues to actively investigate the incident with assistance from the Arkansas State Police.
While police have not officially released the victim’s name, family members have identified the deceased as Shannon Fisher.
Mayor Charles Snapp issued a statement following the incident, expressing concern for the community.
“Tragedy has struck our community,” Snapp said. “Our police department, with the assistance of the state police, are working through the legal process and all appropriate agencies will be notified. Please understand investigations of this nature take time to meet judicial standards. Many people have been impacted, and I encourage everyone to lead with their hearts and prayers as we process this senseless act of violence.”
According to Chief Ferrell, officers responded to a call around 10:47 p.m. Friday reporting an unresponsive man following a physical altercation in a downtown parking lot near Main Street Pizza.
Sergeant Aaron Moore located the victim in the rear parking lot and immediately initiated CPR with help from a bystander. The victim was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The Walnut Ridge Fire Department and Medic One also responded to the scene.
Chief Ferrell said the investigation remains ongoing and urges anyone who was at Main Street Pizza on January 16 or who may have witnessed anything related to the incident to contact the Walnut Ridge Police Department.
