Residents across Fayetteville were alerted today as city crews rushed to contain a sudden water main disruption.
City of Fayetteville water crews are on the scene fixing a main break under a trail, rerouting traffic and warning of possible pressure loss for nearby households.
Water Main Break Under Trail Prompting Reroutes
The break is located under the walking trail and bike path on Old Wire Road between Township and Stewart. Traffic is being rerouted via Stewart Street. City officials posted the advisory to keep the public informed.
Neighbors in the area may experience low or no water pressure while repairs proceed. It is not yet known when normal pressure will be fully restored. Crews are actively working to fix the break.
The announcement was issued by the City of Fayetteville Arkansas Government. Details about the cause of the break have not been released. No injuries have been reported at this time.
