The city of Bella Vista has moved quickly to enforce its rules on election‑related signage, signaling a firm stance as the campaign season ramps up.
Bella Vista officials are removing election signs that violate city code by being placed in public rights‑of‑way or attached to municipal structures, offering a five‑day window for owners to reclaim them before disposal.
City Enforces Election Sign Regulations
According to the City of Bella Vista, Arkansas code, election‑related signs may not be posted within the city’s rights‑of‑way or affixed to signs, utility poles, trees, traffic lights, big rocks, or similar structures.
Signs placed on private property must have the property owner’s consent, and all signs must avoid creating a traffic hazard or obstructing driver visibility.
Additional requirements may apply from the Bella Vista POA or the ACC office, and the city advises residents to consult those offices for further guidance.
If a sign is removed, it can be collected within five days at the Planning & Development office, 101 Town Center; unclaimed signs will be discarded after that period.
