The Batesville Police Department has officially earned accreditation through the Arkansas Law Enforcement Accreditation Program, marking what the department calls a significant milestone in its commitment to professional policing standards.
The department has achieved Tier 1 Advanced accreditation through ALEAP.
According to the Batesville Police Department, earning the accreditation requires a law enforcement agency to demonstrate compliance with dozens of comprehensive professional standards.
Those standards cover major areas of police operations, including use of force, officer training, evidence management, internal accountability and community engagement.
The accreditation process is designed to evaluate whether departments are following established policies, procedures and professional practices across their operations.
Batesville Police says earning the designation demonstrates the department’s commitment to meeting high professional standards in modern policing.
The achievement also places the department among a relatively small group of Arkansas law enforcement agencies to obtain the distinction.
According to the department, Arkansas has 214 police departments, and only 25, including Batesville Police, have achieved Tier 1 Advanced accreditation through ALEAP.
The Batesville Police Department says the accreditation represents an important milestone for the agency and reflects its continuing commitment to professionalism, accountability and service to the community.
