A Marianna man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison in connection with the October 2024 shooting death of another Marianna resident.


Jeremiah Keundre Harris, 20, pleaded no contest Thursday, August 13, in Lee County Circuit Court to second-degree murder in the death of Danny Jordan, 25. Harris was sentenced to 20 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
The deadly shooting happened at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at South Pointe Apartments on California Street in Marianna.
According to Arkansas State Police, Marianna Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire at the apartment complex. Officers found Jordan in an open apartment doorway suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
The Lee County coroner pronounced Jordan dead at the scene.
Following the shooting, the Marianna Police Department requested assistance from the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division. ASP special agents investigated the homicide and arrested Harris on October 17, 2024, two days after Jordan’s death.
The case concluded Thursday when Harris entered the no-contest plea and received the 20-year prison sentence.
