A Searcy Police officer has received statewide recognition for his commitment to training Arkansas law enforcement officers and helping prepare recruits for the challenges of serving their communities.
Officer Rocky “O.B.” Boyce of the Searcy Police Department has been presented with the prestigious Heraclitus Award by the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training (CLEST), a division of the Arkansas Department of Public Safety.
The award recognizes Boyce’s outstanding service as a firearms instructor, where he has played a vital role in teaching law enforcement cadets the safe handling, operation and proficiency of their duty firearms.
Department leaders said Boyce’s dedication to developing future officers reflects the professionalism, experience, leadership and commitment he brings to law enforcement every day.
As a firearms instructor, Boyce has spent countless hours ensuring recruits receive the knowledge and practical skills necessary to safely and effectively carry out one of the most critical responsibilities of the profession. His instruction emphasizes not only technical proficiency but also discipline, accountability and sound decision-making.
The Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training oversees the education and certification of law enforcement officers throughout the state. Receiving the Heraclitus Award is considered a significant honor among Arkansas law enforcement professionals and recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional dedication to training and professional excellence.
