Hope Lutheran Family Life Pantry is asking the community for immediate help as it faces one of the greatest challenges in its history. Pantry leaders say donations of baby essentials have dropped while the number of local families needing assistance has grown dramatically, creating an urgent need for community support.

According to pantry organizers, the ministry served just 12 babies and toddlers during a pantry day one year ago. Today, that number has increased more than tenfold to 128 babies and toddlers served during a single pantry day. In total, the pantry now has 203 registered families relying on its services for assistance with basic necessities.

As demand continues to climb, pantry shelves are becoming dangerously low and funding is being stretched to keep up with the growing need.
“We’re seeing more families than ever before turn to us for help,” organizers said. “Every donation makes a difference and helps ensure local babies and toddlers have the essentials they need.”
Most Urgent Needs
Hope Lutheran Family Life Pantry is currently requesting donations of:
Diapers (Sizes 4 and larger)
Baby Wipes
Baby Cereal
Baby Food
These items are distributed directly to families with infants and toddlers throughout the Batesville area and surrounding communities.

Community Asked to Host Diaper Drives
In addition to individual donations, the pantry is encouraging schools, churches, civic clubs, businesses, youth organizations, and community groups to organize Diaper Drives to help replenish supplies.
Organizers say a community-wide effort can make an immediate impact by ensuring families have access to necessities many struggle to afford.

Growing Need Across the Community
With food prices, diapers, and baby supplies continuing to place pressure on family budgets, Hope Lutheran Family Life Pantry says it expects the need for assistance to remain high throughout the coming months.
Organizers say every diaper donated, every package of wipes, every jar of baby food, and every dollar contributed helps ensure no local child goes without life’s basic necessities.
Community members are encouraged to give what they can and help spread the word so the pantry can continue serving hundreds of families throughout the Batesville area.
