Arkansas country music star Justin Moore announced Monday he is temporarily stepping away from touring to focus on his health and spend time with his family.

In a statement shared on social media, Moore said the decision was necessary and confirmed he will miss several upcoming performances during Riley Green’s “Cowboy As It Gets Tour.”

“This is the right decision for me and my family, and I appreciate everyone’s understanding and support,” Moore said. “I look forward to getting back out there later this summer and doing what I love most.”

Moore did not provide specific details about his health condition but said he plans to return to the stage later this summer.

The Arkansas native was scheduled to appear on multiple upcoming tour dates beginning in mid-June, including performances in Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

Support quickly poured in from fellow country artists and fans across social media. Country artist Jake Owen publicly encouraged Moore to take the time needed to focus on recovery and family.

Moore has built one of the most successful careers in modern country music with a string of #1 hits including Small Town USA, If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away, Til My Last Day, Lettin’ the Night Roll, You Look Like I Need a Drink, Somebody Else Will, The Ones That Didn’t Make It Back Home, Why We Drink, We Didn’t Have Much, With A Woman You Love, You, Me, And Whiskey and This Is My Dirt.

Along with his music career, Moore also co-hosts the “Morning Mayhem” radio program on 103.7 The Buzz.

The break from touring comes during a busy summer concert season and ahead of additional dates planned through August as part of Riley Green’s national tour.
