A man wanted on rape and sexual assault charges involving a juvenile victim has been arrested in Arkansas following a search led by the United States Marshals Service Eastern Arkansas Fugitive Task Force.

Authorities say 46-year-old Johnny Wayne Peeks, who was wanted by the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service, was located Tuesday, June 9, at an RV park in Searcy.

Peeks had been wanted on charges of rape and 1st degree sexual assault involving a juvenile victim. Investigators previously believed he was actively moving throughout Arkansas and staying at campgrounds across the state.

Officials said Peeks had been traveling in a black Ford Maverick with Arkansas license plate AXV-082 and may have been pulling a Montana 5th-wheel camper.

Law enforcement officials had warned the public not to approach Peeks, describing him as a sexually violent predator.

The arrest was made by members of the United States Marshals Service Eastern Arkansas Fugitive Task Force.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The United States Marshals Service Eastern Arkansas Fugitive Task Force is asking for the public’s help locating a fugitive wanted in connection with crimes involving a juvenile victim.

Authorities say 46-year-old Johnny Wayne Peeks is wanted by the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service on charges of rape and 1st degree sexual assault involving a juvenile.

Investigators believe Peeks may be traveling throughout Arkansas and is known to use campgrounds across the state. Officials say he was last known to be driving a black Ford Maverick with Arkansas license plate AXV-082. The vehicle may also be pulling a Montana 5th-wheel camper.

Peeks is described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes. Authorities say he is approximately 6 feet tall and weighs around 205 pounds.

Law enforcement officials are warning the public that Peeks is considered a sexually violent predator. The public is being urged not to approach him.
