Arkansas State Police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a fatal hit-and-run that claimed the life of a 53-year-old El Paso man.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:24 a.m. on June 22 at the intersection of Arkansas Highway 137 and Arkansas Highway 312 in rural Mississippi County.
According to the preliminary Arkansas State Police report, Mark Anthony West was standing in the roadway near his vehicle, which was parked on the shoulder, when he was struck by an unidentified westbound vehicle traveling on Highway 312. The driver fled the scene following the collision.
Rainy weather and wet road conditions were reported at the time of the crash.
West was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to Delancey Funeral Home.
Arkansas State Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information about the driver or vehicle involved to contact the Arkansas State Police.
