Searcy native Ckyler Tengler delivered a historic performance Tuesday night as Arkansas State University defeated Little Rock 12-0 behind the program’s 1st no-hitter in more than 2 decades.

Tengler struck out 9 batters while throwing just 93 pitches, including 71 strikes, during the dominant outing. He faced only 28 batters the entire game and did not allow a single hit or walk. The only runner to reach base came after a hit batter in the 4th inning.
The no-hitter marks the 1st for Arkansas State since Taylor Fowler accomplished the feat on February 19, 2005. It also becomes the 7th no-hitter in Red Wolves baseball history.
Tengler’s performance was also considered a “Maddux,” a rare complete-game shutout thrown in fewer than 100 pitches.
Entering the 9th inning with a low pitch count, Tengler closed out the historic night with 2 strikeouts before forcing a game-ending groundout to seal the win.
The victory over Little Rock added another milestone to Arkansas State baseball history and brought national attention to the standout pitcher from Searcy.
