Community performers and theater enthusiasts are invited to audition for Center on the Square’s upcoming MainStage production of “Meet Me in St. Louis.”
Auditions for the beloved musical will take place Monday, May 18, and Tuesday, May 19, 2026, beginning at 6 PM each evening at Center on the Square located at 219 West Arch Avenue in Downtown Searcy.
Directed by Ryan Gibbons, the production is open to actors and actresses of all experience levels, and organizers say no prior theater experience is required. Those auditioning only need to attend 1 of the 2 audition dates.
Auditions will include cold readings from the script along with some singing, although no preparation is required beforehand. Rehearsals are scheduled to begin in June.
Set during the summer of 1903, “Meet Me in St. Louis” follows the Smith family as they eagerly anticipate the arrival of the 1904 World’s Fair. The classic musical features well-known songs including “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “The Boy Next Door,” and “The Trolley Song.”
Performance dates are scheduled for August 6 through August 9 and August 13 through August 16.
