Residents of central Arkansas were shocked Thursday by news of a serious traffic collision that left one person injured.
A two‑vehicle crash on Highway 92 near Springfield injured one driver, who was rescued and air‑lifted to a hospital; fire crews from three departments responded and the sheriff’s office is investigating.
Two‑Vehicle Crash Injures Driver on Highway 92
The collision occurred early Wednesday morning on Highway 92 in Springfield. Firefighters from the Springfield, Hillcreek and Morrilton departments arrived at the scene. They worked to extricate a driver who was trapped inside the vehicle.
After the driver was freed, Med‑Tech EMS took the patient to a landing zone at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Hillcreek. From there, she was airlifted to a hospital in Little Rock. Her injuries were not believed to be life‑threatening.
The Conway County Fire Department reported the incident to the public. The Conway County Sheriff’s Office is reportedly investigating the crash. No further details about the cause have been released.
Authorities have not announced whether any charges will be filed. The condition of the injured driver remains stable. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
