Big news for one of Arkansas’ most beloved summer traditions.

Cave City has been selected as a 2026 Levitt Family Foundation festival grant recipient, bringing additional support for free live music during the Cave City Watermelon Festival, set for July 23 through July 25, 2026.

The Levitt Foundation awards grants of up to $5,000 to nonprofit organizations across the country, supporting festivals that expand access to the arts and strengthen communities through music and culture.

In 2026, 55 organizations across more than 30 states were selected, with events planned in locations ranging from small-town main streets to large city parks and public gathering spaces.

Cave City Watermelon Festival Spotlight

The Cave City Watermelon Festival celebrates the town’s rich agricultural heritage as the “home of the world’s sweetest watermelons.” The event brings the community together each year with live entertainment, family activities, and fundraising efforts that support local food programs.

With the addition of the Levitt grant, festival organizers will be able to enhance live music offerings and continue providing free outdoor concerts for residents and visitors.

Officials say the grant reflects the strength of the Cave City community and its commitment to preserving local traditions while creating meaningful experiences for families across the region.

The Levitt Foundation says its mission is to create vibrant communities through music, supporting more than 1000 free concerts nationwide and reaching over 1 million people annually.

Cave City now joins a national network of communities using music to bring people together and celebrate local culture.
