The Beebe Chief of Police has released a statement urging the public to stop spreading false information in the aftermath of a teen’s tragic death in a train accident recently. He says that lots of false information is already spreading regarding the incident in a hurtful way. He’s asking the public to stay calm.

Police Chief Releases Update

Beebe Chief of Police Barron Dickson released a disturbing statement after the tragic death of a 15 year old who was killed by a train recently.

Chief Dickson says an investigation is underway. Sadly, fake news about the tragic event is spreading online.

“Unfortunately, there are many rumors circulating on social media. While I believe that many people are not intentionally spreading false information, it is causing confusion and division within our community.”

Chief Dickson is telling people to remain calm and not jump to any conclusions after this tragic accident.

Captain Steven Hall has been chosen to lead the investigation into the disturbing incident. Also included in the investigation are Arkansas State Police Crimes against Children’s Division and the Beebe School District Police Department.

Counselling is also being offered for all those effected.

A 15-Year-Old Boy Was Killed

The report comes after a 15-year-old boy’s body had been found near the train track that was struck by a Union Pacific train. He was already dead when police arrived at the scene.
