Residents can support children and families in Cleburne County during the Stuff the Squad Car and Fill the Fire Boot donation drive Saturday, September 19, at Walmart in Heber Springs.
The community collection event will be held from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Walmart Supercenter, located at 1500 Highway 25B North.
Donations collected during the event will benefit the Child Safety Center’s new Heber Springs location.
Community members are encouraged to donate requested supplies or gift cards. Donations will be used to support the Child Safety Center as it provides child-focused services to children and families affected by allegations of abuse.

Individually packaged snacks
Office supplies
Fast-food gift cards
Gas gift cards
Other needed supplies
Residents can bring donations to Walmart during the 4-hour event. Supporters will work to stuff a squad car with supplies and collect additional donations through the Fill the Fire Boot effort.
SUPPORTING CLEBURNE COUNTY CHILDREN
The Child Safety Center recently announced plans to open an office inside Heber Springs City Hall, bringing specialized services closer to children and families in Cleburne County.
During the previous year, the Child Safety Center served approximately 50 children from Cleburne County. Those children and their families previously had to travel to the organization’s primary office in Searcy, creating a round trip of approximately 65 miles.
The Heber Springs office will reduce that travel requirement while improving coordination among law enforcement officers, prosecutors, medical providers, the Arkansas Department of Human Services and Child Safety Center personnel.
The Child Safety Center provides a child-friendly, multidisciplinary response to allegations of child abuse. Its services are designed to reduce additional trauma while children and their families move through medical, investigative and legal processes.
The organization serves White, Cleburne, Jackson and Woodruff counties.
