Strong storms and powerful wind gusts toppled trees across Searcy Saturday afternoon, August 22, including a large tree at The Springs of Searcy.
The Springs of Searcy is a skilled nursing facility located at 1205 Skyline Drive. Initial information indicated that the large tree came down on the property, but the full extent of the damage was not immediately available.

Trees and large limbs were also reported down in several other areas around the city. City crews and first responders moved quickly through affected neighborhoods, clearing fallen trees and debris from roadways while working to protect residents and drivers.

Motorists were urged to use caution around cleanup areas and avoid streets where crews were removing debris. Residents should never approach a downed power line and should treat every fallen line as energized.
Information about possible injuries or the full extent of the storm damage was not immediately available. Cleanup efforts continued Saturday afternoon as crews worked to reopen affected roadways and remove dangerous limbs and debris.
