Drivers traveling through Downtown Searcy will notice several new traffic pattern changes aimed at improving the flow of vehicles throughout the downtown district.
According to the City of Searcy, Arch Street from Spring Street to Main Street is now 1-way eastbound, while Center Street from Main Street to Spring Street is now 1-way westbound. In addition, Spruce Street from Market Street to Center Street has been changed to 2-way traffic.
City officials say the changes are intended to improve traffic circulation and make travel through downtown more efficient.
Motorists are encouraged to use extra caution while traveling through the area as residents and visitors become familiar with the new traffic patterns. Drivers should pay close attention to new traffic signs, pavement markings, and posted directions.
The City of Searcy appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as these improvements take effect.
