Lyon College welcomed alumni, community leaders, corporate partners and supporters to The Course at Eagle Mountain this past weekend for the annual Bill Walmsley Golf Classic, one of the premier fundraising events benefiting Fighting Scots Athletics.

Presented by Atlas Asphalt and White River Materials, the tournament generated important financial support for Lyon College student-athletes while bringing together supporters for a day of competition and fellowship.
Before the shotgun start, Lyon College Director of Athletics Kevin Jenkins thanked participants for their continued commitment to the success of Fighting Scots Athletics. Bill Walmsley also addressed the golfers, expressing appreciation to sponsors and participants for their support of Lyon College athletic programs.
The Championship Flight was won by Tim Applegate, Brian Reaves, Austin Reaves and Luke Cornett. Finishing second were Shawn Drake, Easton Griffen, Jed Porter and Garth Branstetter, while David Bell, Chris Bell, Penick Bell and Tommy Ford earned third place.
First Flight champions were Joe Mourer, Caleb Blakley, Tanner Vinson and Shane Sisk. The Second Flight title went to Gerald Heinecke, David Goodwin, Kevin Sanders and Ben Russell.
Individual contest winners included Grady McMahan in the Putting Contest, Chad Edwards in the Chipping Contest, Kaelee DeLord in Women’s Long Drive and Caleb Blakley in Men’s Long Drive.
