Old Independence Regional Museum Celebrates New Wedding Exhibit in Batesville
The Old Independence Regional Museum in Batesville, Arkansas welcomed visitors for the opening of its newest temporary exhibit, “Tying the Knot: Courtship & Weddings in Arkansas,” which officially opened on June 6.

The event featured a mini-cake competition, community fellowship, and a strong turnout from supporters across the area. Museum officials congratulated Ruth Kent-Cook for taking 1st place in the mini-cake competition during the celebration.

Organizers thanked everyone who baked cakes, attended the event, and supported the museum during the exhibit opening festivities.
Museum staff also praised Jade for her work organizing both the wedding-themed exhibit and the successful cake competition.
The “Tying the Knot” exhibit explores the history of courtship and wedding traditions across Arkansas and is currently on display at the Old Independence Regional Museum in Batesville.
