The ArkansasRadio.com family of radio stations continues its Arkansas SHIIP Day tour with 2 special stops this week, bringing free Medicare information, bingo, prizes, and LIVE radio broadcasts to senior citizens in Batesville and Patterson.
The first stop is Monday, October 12, 2026, at the Independence County Senior Citizen’s Center, located at 920 Elm Street in Batesville.
The tour continues Wednesday, October 14, at the Patterson Senior Life Center, located at 303 West Cache Street in Patterson.
Both events are scheduled from 10 AM until 1 PM and are free to attend.
Bob Connell and the ArkansasRadio.com Road Gang will be broadcasting LIVE from both locations, visiting with area seniors, sharing information, and helping spread the word about the valuable services available through Arkansas SHIIP.
ARKANSAS SHIIP PROVIDES FREE MEDICARE GUIDANCE
SHIIP stands for Senior Health Insurance Information Program, a program administered through the Arkansas Insurance Department.
The program provides free, confidential, and unbiased Medicare counseling to eligible Arkansans, their families, and caregivers.
Certified local SHIIP counselors will be available during the events to answer questions and help participants better understand their Medicare coverage options.
Counselors can provide information about Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement plans, and Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage.
They can also help eligible individuals learn about programs that may reduce prescription drug expenses and other out-of-pocket Medicare costs.
Unlike insurance sales representatives, SHIIP counselors provide unbiased information and do not sell insurance policies.
FREE BINGO, PRIZES AND COMMUNITY FUN
In addition to valuable Medicare information, both SHIIP Day events will feature free bingo, prizes, and opportunities for seniors to visit with friends and neighbors.
The events are designed to bring important Medicare resources directly into local communities while providing an enjoyable opportunity for fellowship.

MEDICARE OPEN ENROLLMENT APPROACHING
The events come just ahead of the annual Medicare Open Enrollment Period, which begins October 15 and continues through December 7.
During open enrollment, eligible Medicare beneficiaries can review their coverage and make changes for the upcoming year.
SHIIP counselors can help participants understand their choices, compare prescription drug coverage, and learn about programs that may provide financial assistance.
