During a recent Batesville City Council meeting, Jessica Davis was presented with her Certified Municipal Clerk certification, a professional designation earned through extensive training, education, and commitment to municipal government service.

City officials say the certification represents countless hours of hard work and continued professional development while serving the residents of Batesville.

Deputy Clerk Donna Smith has also achieved the same level of certification, helping ensure the Batesville Clerk’s Office remains current with ever-changing municipal government guidelines and procedures.

The 57th Annual Professional Municipal Clerks Week is being observed May 3 through May 9, 2026, honoring clerks across the nation who serve as keepers of records, guardians of process, information hubs, and vital links between citizens and local government.

Officials say municipal clerks play a critical role in maintaining transparency, organization, and communication within city government operations every day.
