The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced a temporary closure of Highway 25 across Greers Ferry Dam for maintenance work.

All lanes will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 3. After reopening, the roadway will be reduced to 1 lane 24 hours a day from 4 p.m. Sunday, May 3 through 4 p.m. Saturday, May 9, weather permitting.

The closure will allow crews to complete necessary repairs and maintenance. Officials say the project has been coordinated with local emergency management and law enforcement agencies.

Drivers traveling north of the closure will detour from Highway 25 south near Pearson to Highway 16 west to Whispering Springs, then to Highway 92 east to Drasco, reconnecting with Highway 25.

Southbound travelers will follow the reverse route through Drasco, Highway 92 west, Whispering Springs, and Highway 16 south through Pearson.

Motorists are encouraged to check conditions through IDriveArkansas before traveling.
