According to officials, ASP Special Agents launched the investigation on September 15, 2025, at the request of the 14th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney. The case was supported by findings from Arkansas Legislative Audit.

Authorities say Darla Jo Hulen, 49, of Flippin, is accused of misappropriating $2,210 in court fine payments while serving as the Bull Shoals Court Clerk.

Hulen was taken into custody on April 21, 2026, and transported to the Marion County Detention Center. She faces 1 felony count of theft of property and is being held on a $10,000 bond.
