Seniors, caregivers and anyone eligible for Medicare are invited to attend Arkansas SHIIP Day on Thursday, July 23, at the Lightle Senior Center, where they will receive free Medicare counseling, learn how to reduce prescription drug costs and enjoy a fun-filled community event featuring free bingo, prizes and a live Multi-Station Radio Rally with the ArkansasRadio.com Radio Stations.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Lightle Senior Center, 2200 East Moore Avenue in Searcy.
Throughout the event, ArkansasRadio.com’s Bob Connell will broadcast LIVE, interviewing guests, sharing community updates and highlighting valuable programs and services available to seniors throughout Arkansas.
The event is free and open to the public.
Free Medicare Counseling Available
Arkansas SHIIP Day is presented through the Arkansas Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP), a trusted statewide resource offering free, confidential and unbiased Medicare counseling.
Certified local SHIP counselors will be available throughout the day to answer questions regarding:
Medicare Part A
Medicare Part B
Medicare Advantage Plans
Medicare Supplement Insurance
Medicare Prescription Drug Plans
Enrollment Periods
Medicare Savings Programs
Prescription Drug Cost Assistance
Medicare Fraud Prevention
Medicare Rights and Benefits
Unlike insurance sales representatives, SHIIP counselors provide objective information designed to help Medicare beneficiaries better understand their options and make informed healthcare decisions based on their individual needs.
Learn How to Lower Prescription Drug Costs
One of the most valuable services offered during Arkansas SHIP Day is helping Medicare beneficiaries discover ways to reduce out-of-pocket prescription drug expenses.
Counselors can explain available assistance programs, compare Medicare prescription coverage options and identify savings opportunities that could potentially save participants hundreds or even thousands of dollars each year.
Whether someone is newly eligible for Medicare or has been enrolled for years, SHIIP counselors can answer questions and provide personalized guidance at no cost.
More Than Medicare Information
In addition to Medicare counseling, attendees can enjoy a welcoming community atmosphere with activities including:
FREE Bingo
Door Prizes
Live ArkansasRadio.com Broadcast
Community Information Booths
Helpful Senior Resources
Fellowship with Friends and Neighbors
The event combines education with entertainment, giving seniors an opportunity to receive valuable healthcare information while enjoying fellowship with others in the community.
ArkansasRadio.com Broadcasting LIVE
Bob Connell and the ArkansasRadio.com Radio Stations will broadcast LIVE from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., featuring interviews with community leaders, event organizers and local guests while providing updates throughout the morning.
Community members are encouraged to stop by, visit with the ArkansasRadio.com team, participate in the activities and learn more about the many free services available through Arkansas SHIP.
Why Arkansas SHIIP Matters
The Arkansas Senior Health Insurance Information Program serves thousands of Arkansans each year by helping Medicare beneficiaries better understand their coverage, compare plan options and avoid costly mistakes.
Because SHIIP counselors are independent and unbiased, participants receive information focused solely on helping them make the best decisions for their healthcare needs rather than promoting any particular insurance company or plan.
