The Child Safety Center of White County is continuing its mission to protect and support children across the region while raising awareness during Child Abuse Prevention Month in April.
Executive Director Darby Gaines says the center serves children involved in abuse investigations or those who have witnessed violent crimes. The organization partners with law enforcement, DHS, and prosecutors to provide forensic interviews, advocacy, medical exams, and trauma therapy.
The center reported a record-breaking 83 new child cases in March, highlighting the growing need for services in White County and surrounding areas.
In addition to direct services, the Child Safety Center focuses heavily on prevention, offering education programs in schools and encouraging parents to monitor online activity and establish safe boundaries for children.
Several community fundraisers are scheduled throughout April, including give-back events at local businesses and a “Stuff the Squad Car” drive at a Searcy Walmart location. The center also invites the public to tour its facility at 414 Rogers Drive during an open house event on April 26.
Gaines emphasized one key message to parents: believe and support your child, and stay informed to help protect them.
