A new chapter for collectors and hobbyists has arrived in downtown Batesville as Oliver’s Card House officially opens its new location at 151 West Main Street.

Ambassadors in attendance include: Abigail Ballard (Lifeplus), Brandi Curbo (Batesville Guard), Eva Henriksen (Merchants & Planters Bank), Michael Dickinson (City of Batesville), Michele Jennae (EDGx365), Nathan Dowen (Citizens Bank), Scott Phillips (UACCB), Silje Antonsen (First Community Bank), Sydney Wood (Main Street Batesville), and Taylor Williams (First Community Bank).

The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce joined community members to celebrate the grand opening, marking a major milestone for the fast-growing local business.

Co-owners Jared Merriman and Matt Harris launched the shop after recognizing strong demand for trading cards in the region, bringing a concept back to Batesville that hasn’t existed in over a decade.

A Unique Downtown Destination

Oliver’s Card House specializes in a wide range of trading card products, including:

Pokémon cards
Sports cards
One Piece cards
Vintage and premium collector packs

The shop also offers consignment services and card grading assistance through PSA and Beckett.

Building Community Through Cards

Beyond retail, the store is designed as a gathering place where collectors of all ages can connect.

Regular “Trade Days” are held every other weekend, allowing customers to bring their collections, trade with others, and build relationships within the hobby community.

Merriman says creating a welcoming space was always part of the vision.

A Meaningful Location

The store’s address — 151 West Main Street — holds special significance for Pokémon fans, referencing the original 151 Pokémon, adding a unique touch for collectors.

Supporting Local Growth

The opening highlights the importance of small businesses in downtown Batesville, helping drive foot traffic and create experiences that go beyond traditional retail.

Oliver’s Card House is open:

Tuesday through Friday: 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM
