A fatal crash on Interstate 57 near Searcy Arkansas has claimed the life of a 68-year-old woman, according to a report from the Arkansas State Police.
The crash occurred around 3:30 AM on March 18, 2026, near the 45 mile marker on I-57 in White County Arkansas.
Authorities identified the victim as Teia Tarkington, 68, of Kensett Arkansas, who was listed as a pedestrian. According to the initial report, Tarkington ran west into the inside southbound traffic lane where she was struck by a 2004 Kia Spectra traveling southbound.
Officials say weather conditions were clear and road conditions were dry at the time of the crash.
No other injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation by Arkansas State Police Trooper Jason Denison.
This marks another fatality on Arkansas roadways in 2026, as officials continue urging drivers and pedestrians to use extreme caution, especially during nighttime hours.
