A Damascus man is facing new felony drug charges after being arrested on an outstanding absconder warrant Thursday morning.

According to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, deputies accompanied by the 20th Judicial District Drug Task Force, United States Marshals Service, and the Damascus Police Department conducted a home visit at approximately 9:00 a.m.
Authorities apprehended Teddy Converse of Damascus on a probation and parole absconder warrant. Due to an existing search waiver on file, deputies conducted a search of the residence.

During the search, law enforcement officials reported discovering approximately 2 ounces of methamphetamine, digital scales, drug paraphernalia, and an illegal sawed-off shotgun.
Converse will now face felony drug charges in addition to the outstanding warrant.
The investigation remains ongoing.
