Dan is currently employed with the Fairfield Bay Resort and Community as the managing editor of the Lake Area Weekly, formally known as the Fairfield Bay News. Dan is currently on the board of the Recycle Center and was a driver for the Fairfield Bay EMS.

Dan is very familiar with the local politics and the importance of open communication and working together with the city to move Fairfield Bay forward.

“I would be honored to represent the residents of Fairfield Bay as Justice of the Peace with the Van Buren County Quorum Court. I will work together with the other JP’s to move in a positive direction for future growth of the county.

If elected as JP, I will make sure that Fairfield Bay receives its fair share of county resources and attention,” said Dan.

District 4 primarily encompasses the Fairfield Bay area, a unique region known for its resort atmosphere and active retirement community.

The Role of the Quorum Court

The Justice of the Peace is a vital role in Arkansas county government. As a member of the nine-person Quorum Court, the JP acts as part of the county’s legislative body. Key responsibilities include:

  • Budget Oversight: Appropriating county funds and approving the annual budget.
  • Ordinance Passage: Creating local laws and policies that affect everything from roads to public safety.
  • Community Representation: Serving as the direct voice for the residents of District 4 (Fairfield Bay) in county-level decisions.

Election Reminder: Early voting ends 5pm Monday prior to election.

The Primary Election is Tuesday March 3, 2026. Residents must be registered to vote 30 days prior to the election to participate.
