The Arkansas Arts Council has announced that the opening of its annual touring visual arts exhibition, Small Works on Paper, scheduled for February 2, 2026, at Arkansas Tech University, has been postponed due to recent inclement weather.
A new opening date for the exhibition at Arkansas Tech University’s Norman Hall Gallery will be announced soon. Once open, the exhibit will be available for public viewing Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Now in its 39th year, Small Works on Paper is a juried exhibition organized by the Arkansas Arts Council that showcases work from Arkansas artists. All selected pieces measure no larger than 18 by 24 inches. The 2026 exhibition features 40 works by 40 Arkansas artists and will tour 10 venues statewide.
This year’s entries were juried by Kelli Scott Kelley, an artist and professor of painting at Louisiana State University. Kelley reviewed more than 300 submissions to select the final works included in the exhibition. Two artists were selected for purchase awards, with their works becoming part of the permanent Small Works on Paper collection.
