In recognition of Human Trafficking Awareness Month, ArkansasRadio.com radio stations are spotlighting prevention, awareness, and victim recovery efforts with a special edition of the Open Mic public affairs program with CEO/General Manager Bob Connell.

Arkansas State Police report that victim-centered operations in Fort Smith and West Memphis during 2025 identified 82 trafficking victims, all of whom were immediately provided medical care and advocacy services. Officials also received more than 180 trafficking and sexual exploitation reports statewide involving both adults and youth.
Through the Arkansas Human Trafficking Council’s VALOR working group, law enforcement helped recover 204 missing children in 2025, more than double the number recovered in 2024. As of January 1, 2026, there are 103 active missing-child cases involving minors across the state.
State leaders, including Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Attorney General Tim Griffin, emphasized that trafficking occurs in both rural and urban communities and urged Arkansans to remain alert and report suspicious activity.
Residents are encouraged to report suspected trafficking by dialing *277 on any mobile phone or emailing reportht@arkansas.gov
