Local authorities report that an infant was killed in a tragic Saturday evening crash at the intersection of Highway 36 and Highway 13.

According to Patrolman Rocky Boyce of the Searcy Police Department, a Ford F-250 was traveling west on Highway 36 when a 2015 Jeep Compass, heading east and attempting to turn left onto Highway 13, failed to yield the right of way, resulting in the collision.

Four others were injured, including two minors riding in the Jeep Compass and the driver, 31-year-old Jamie Sartin of Higginson. Sharon Faulk, 65, of Romance, a passenger in the Ford F-250, was also injured. All were transported to Unity Health White County Medical Center and Arkansas Children’s Hospital for treatment.

Boyce reported clear weather and dry road conditions at the time of the crash, which occurred at 6:38 p.m. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
