Arkansas State Parks celebrated a major outdoor recreation milestone today with the official expansion of the Oakridge Mountain Bike Trail System at Bull Shoals–White River State Park, adding four miles of new trail to the Ozarks region.
Following the ribbon cutting, bikers officially opened the trail with a ride, giving guests and media a firsthand look at the expanded system.
The expansion, constructed by Progressive Trails, brings the total system to 14 miles of trails open to both hikers and mountain bikers. The new stretch provides fresh access to scenic overlooks with sweeping views of the White River. Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony, riders officially opened the trail with a community ride.

“The Oakridge Mountain Bike Trail System represents the best of what happens when state, local, and community partners come together,” said Secretary Lewis. “This project enhances not only our park but also the regional tourism economy and outdoor recreation in Arkansas.”

The ceremony concluded with a guided trail walk, and boxed lunches for attendees.
