A major incident on a rural Arkansas highway captured the community’s attention yesterday, prompting swift emergency response and public concern.
A driver left Highway 95 after a deer crossed, escaped injury, and declined medical transport while authorities begin an investigation.
Driver Leaves Road After Deer Collision
The vehicle drifted off Highway 95 south of Cleveland on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Conway County Fire Department. The driver was unharmed in the off‑road event. No other vehicles were involved.
Cleveland firefighters arrived quickly and worked with Med‑Tech EMS to evaluate the driver at the scene. Their assessment confirmed the driver had no injuries. She declined further treatment or transport to a hospital.
The driver told bystanders that a deer ran in front of her, causing her to lose control. This account is being used to understand the cause of the crash. No deer was recovered at the site.
The Conway County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. Details of the investigation have not yet been released. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to contact them.
