
Nelson Hammel, 24, was booked into the White County jail on September 19, 2026, arrested by the White County sheriff’s office, on charges of fraudulent use of credit card or debit card > $1,000 <= $5,000 and failure to appear.

According to the charging document:
The said NELSON A. HAMMEL
in the County and State aforesaid, on or about the JULY 7, 2026 [name withheld] 14, 2026,
(1) did unlawfully and feloniously and with the purpose to defraud, use of a credit or debit card belonging to [name withheld], to obtain property or services with the knowledge that the card having a value of more than $1,000 .00 but less than $5,000.00 was unauthorized, to-wit: [name withheld];
against the peace and dignity of the state of Arkansas.
Beginning on 07/07/2026, a [name withheld] was being used in her mother’s name. [name withheld] is currently living in an assisted living facility and is incapable mentally of authorizing a credit card. The card was used at locations in the city of Beebe between 07/07/2026 and 07/14/2026.
Investigator Daniel Jarry found that the suspect was Nelson A Hammel. Nelson Hammel was identified as using the stolen credit card at the [name withheld]. Hammel recovered a Stihl chainsaw using the card for $120 on 07/08/2026. This was verified by the pawn receipt and cashier receipt.
