Artwork from 3 Arkansas women artists is being featured in a new exhibition at Lyon College’s Kresge Gallery in Batesville.
“Words Become Matter” is on display through October 3 as part of the Arkansas Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts’ Women to Watch program.
The exhibition brings together works exploring how language, ideas and personal experiences can take physical form through art.
The featured Arkansas artists are K. Nelson Harper of Fort Smith, Acadia Kandora of Fayetteville and Rebecca Resinski of Conway.
Works featured in the exhibition include Harper’s “Naked, North of the Arctic Circle,” Kandora’s “Windswept” and Resinski’s “But Just Now.”
A free public reception for the exhibition will be held Thursday, September 10, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Kresge Gallery.
The Arkansas Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts works to increase the visibility and recognition of women artists through exhibitions and programs across Arkansas.
The Kresge Gallery is located inside the historic Alphin Building on the Lyon College campus at 2300 Highland Road in Batesville.
Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Lyon College was founded in 1872 and is a private liberal arts institution in Batesville. The college currently enrolls 781 students from more than 33 states and 14 countries and offers 32 majors along with pre-professional, individualized and select graduate programs.
The “Words Become Matter” exhibition will remain on display through October 3.
