Police action in Texarkana drew swift community attention this morning. A routine call about a suspicious person escalated into a dramatic capture.
Officer Butler of the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department reportedly captured Christopher McCuan after a suspicious‑person call led to a neighborhood search, resulting in an arrest on drug and burglary‑related charges.
Officer Butler Captures Hiding Suspect
In the early morning of September 15, a homeowner on Razorback Drive reported a suspicious person and a moped left in the yard. Delta Night Shift officers from the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department responded to the call. When they arrived, the individual had already left, prompting a search of the neighborhood.
Officer Butler later identified a person matching the description in a nearby yard. The individual repeatedly concealed himself as officers tried to locate him. Butler ultimately found Christopher McCuan hiding in bushes near another residence.
Investigators discovered approximately 3.9 grams of suspected methamphetamine on McCuan. He resisted as officers attempted to escort him to a patrol vehicle. The officers gained control and transported him to the Miller County Jail.
Later that morning, officers returned after a report of a vehicle burglary in the same area. Surveillance footage showed McCuan moving around properties, and a resident reported a truck was entered with $300‑$400 cash missing. Additional property was found in bushes and a felony charge of Breaking or Entering was added, alongside existing charges of loitering, fleeing on foot, refusal to submit to arrest, and possession of a controlled substance.
