The family of late White County Judge Lisa Brown has endorsed Heather Bryant to become the Republican nominee and future White County judge.

Bryant, an administrative assistant in the White County Judge’s Office, and White County Road Department Foreman Edward Covington were the only 2 candidates to file before today’s 1 p.m. deadline.
At 7 tonight, 77 members of the White County Republican Committee will meet at the Carmichael Community Center in Searcy to select a replacement Republican nominee for the November ballot.
Brown died August 12 following a battle with cancer. She was serving her 1st term and running unopposed for a 2nd term.
The nominee selected tonight will seek a new 4-year term beginning January 1, 2027.
The nomination process is separate from the White County Quorum Court’s responsibility to appoint someone to complete the remainder of Brown’s current term.
