Arkansas State University-Beebe has welcomed Dr. Charles Majors as its new Dean of Learning and Assessment.

Majors most recently served as interim Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Academics at Central Baptist College in Conway. He also served as the college’s Higher Learning Commission Accreditation Liaison Officer.
Before joining Central Baptist College, Majors worked as the Instructional Design and Quality Matters Coordinator at Arkansas Tech University. He also taught English at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville and Arkansas Tech University.
“We are extremely pleased to have Dr. Majors join our academic leadership team,” said Dr. Blake Perkins, ASU-Beebe Vice Chancellor for Academics.
Perkins said Majors brings extensive experience in curriculum development, curriculum alignment, teaching practices, quality assurance, educational technology, student learning assessment and accreditation.
Majors earned a bachelor’s degree in professional studies and a master’s degree in English from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. He earned his doctorate in English from Murray State University in Kentucky.
Majors said some of his favorite teaching experiences have been at the community college level. He said he looks forward to supporting faculty excellence, strengthening enrollment and expanding programs that elevate student success.
ASU-Beebe is a separate 2-year institution within the Arkansas State University System. The college provides associate degrees, certificates and non-credit workforce training through campuses in Beebe, Heber Springs, Searcy and Little Rock Air Force Base, along with online programs.
