The Woodruff County Sheriff’s Office is helping students and families prepare for the new school year by sponsoring a free back-to-school event Saturday, August 1.
Sheriff Phil Reynolds and the department will host the Woodruff County Back to School Classroom Countdown from 9 a.m. until noon.
The event will be held at the former Country Mart location at 919 Highway 64 in Augusta.
Students and families will have access to several free services, resources and activities intended to help children begin the school year prepared and confident.
The event will feature:
• Bounce houses
• Games
• School physicals
• Haircuts
• Dental hygiene kits
• Community vendors
• Food
• Additional family activities
School physicals can help families complete health requirements before classes and athletic activities begin.
Free haircuts and dental hygiene kits will give students additional resources as they prepare to return to the classroom.
The bounce houses and games will provide entertainment for children while families visit participating vendors and learn about available community resources.
Sheriff Reynolds said the event reflects the Woodruff County Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to supporting local students and families.
The Classroom Countdown also provides an opportunity for children to meet deputies and other community partners in a welcoming and positive environment.
The event is free and open to Woodruff County families.
