The City of Cushman has new leadership following the appointment and swearing-in of Joshua Goodwin as the city’s new mayor.
City officials announced Wednesday morning, July 29, that Goodwin had been appointed to serve as mayor and was officially sworn into office Tuesday night, July 28.
According to the city, Goodwin immediately stepped into his new position and began working on behalf of the community.
NEW LEADERSHIP FOR CUSHMAN
City officials expressed enthusiasm about Goodwin’s appointment and said they are looking forward to what his leadership will bring to the Independence County community.
Goodwin is described by the city as a successful business owner, youth leader, husband and father.
Officials said they believe his experience, values and commitment to the community will help guide Cushman as the city moves forward.
“We are excited and expecting great things for our little community,” the city said in announcing Goodwin’s appointment.

City officials said they believe Goodwin will bring the morals and values needed to help make Cushman a community residents are proud to call home.
The city is encouraging residents to welcome Goodwin as he begins serving in his new leadership role.
