One of Heber Springs’ longest-running community traditions continues Friday as the 139th Old Soldiers Reunion carnival welcomes families for another evening of patriotic celebration and summertime entertainment.
Presented by American Legion Saxton-Willis Post 64, the annual reunion honors the service, courage and commitment of America’s military veterans while bringing residents and visitors together in Heber Springs.
The 2026 celebration began Thursday evening with the Old Soldiers Reunion Parade. Participants assembled at Harps at 901 West Main Street before the parade began at 6 p.m.
The carnival continues Friday, July 31, and Saturday, August 1, offering families 2 more opportunities to participate in the longstanding Heber Springs tradition.
The Old Soldiers Reunion has become an important part of the community’s summer calendar, providing an opportunity to recognize veterans, display American pride and celebrate with friends, neighbors and visitors.
American Legion Saxton-Willis Post 64 is encouraging the community to attend and help continue a tradition that has endured for 139 years.
