The Batesville School District Board of Education has recommended terminating Superintendent Dr. Ginni McDonald following an ongoing investigation tied to child abuse allegations involving a Batesville preschool program.

In a statement released on the district’s Facebook page, school officials said the district remains focused on maintaining student safety.
“The Batesville School District is committed to providing a safe, secure, and supportive learning environment for all students and staff,” the district stated. “Our focus remains where it belongs — on our students, our staff, and maintaining a safe and positive educational environment.”
Earlier this year, the Batesville Police Department confirmed investigators were actively examining allegations of abuse connected to the Batesville School District Preschool program.
Police Chief John Scarbrough said authorities received 3 separate reports from the Child Abuse Hotline in February alleging abuse involving the preschool.
According to police, investigators executed several search warrants, conducted interviews, and collected evidence during the course of the investigation.
The investigation remains ongoing.
