Arkansas State Police are now leading an investigation into an officer-involved shooting reported Tuesday afternoon in Searcy.

According to information gathered by ArkansasRadio.com News, the incident occurred around 2:14 p.m. at the Mobile gas station located at 1199 North Maple Street near the Sonic Drive-In and the Holmes Road area.

Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the scene including Arkansas State Police and officers with the Searcy Police Department. Searcy Police Chief Steve Hernandez, Lt. Todd Wells, and Detective John Stone were reportedly observed at the location speaking with witnesses and gathering information.
Early reports indicate the incident appeared to be confined to the gas station area. Witnesses reported seeing officers interviewing bystanders and documenting the scene. No ambulance activity was immediately observed during the initial response.
At this time, Arkansas State Police have not released additional information regarding injuries, suspects, or the circumstances surrounding the shooting investigation.
