Arkansas Department of Agriculture Warns Residents About Fraudulent Email Scam

The Arkansas Department of Agriculture is warning Arkansans about fraudulent emails being sent by individuals falsely claiming to represent the agency.

Officials say the scam emails involve payment requests and other suspicious messages designed to appear as though they are coming from the Arkansas Department of Agriculture.

The department is urging residents, businesses, and agricultural partners to carefully review email addresses before responding to any message requesting information or payment.

According to the agency, official emails from the Arkansas Department of Agriculture will always come from an email address ending in “arkansas.gov.”

Officials also encourage anyone receiving suspicious emails to contact their normal department representative directly before responding or sending payment information.

The agency says suspicious messages should immediately be reported to Agri.Info@arkansas.gov
or by calling 501-225-1598.

State officials remind Arkansans to never click suspicious links, download unknown attachments, or provide sensitive financial information unless they can confirm the message is legitimate.

The Arkansas Department of Agriculture says residents with questions or concerns should contact the agency directly for assistance.
